About Ami — Keeping Families Connected

Ami is an AI companion platform designed for elderly care. It connects aging parents with their adult children through daily voice conversations, WhatsApp message relay, and a newspaper-style Family Gazette dashboard. Founded in 2025 and based in Europe, Ami helps families stay close even when distance separates them.

How Ami Works

At its core, Ami is a voice companion that speaks with your parent every day. These are natural, unhurried conversations in your parent's own language. Ami asks about their day, listens to their stories, gently checks in on how they're feeling, and remembers what matters to them. For your parent, it feels like chatting with a warm, familiar friend.

After each conversation, Ami distils the important moments and sends them to you via WhatsApp. If your mother mentions she has a doctor's appointment on Thursday, you'll know. If your father tells a story about his childhood that he's never shared before, it's preserved. The messages arrive naturally, woven into the app you already use every day.

The Family Gazette ties everything together. It's a newspaper-style dashboard where you can see daily conversation summaries, mood observations, health notes, and family stories at a glance. Think of it as a living portrait of your parent's day, updated with each conversation.

Family members can also send messages back through Ami. Write a note, share a photo, or send a voice message, and Ami will relay it to your parent during their next conversation. It's a two-way bridge that keeps the whole family in the loop.

Who Ami Is For

Ami is built for adult children, typically aged 35 to 55, who care about their aging parents but can't always be physically present. Perhaps you've moved to a different city for work. Perhaps your parent lives independently and insists they're fine, but you worry about the hours between your weekly calls. Perhaps you're part of a family spread across countries, trying to coordinate care across time zones.

The platform is particularly relevant for European families, where increasing numbers of elderly people live alone and informal caregiving (known as "mantelzorg" in the Netherlands) forms a cornerstone of the care system. Ami supports multiple languages and is designed to respect the cultural nuances of family care across different European contexts.

Our Approach

Ami requires no special hardware. It works on any device your parent already owns: a tablet, a smartphone, or even a simple screen. Setup takes minutes, not hours, and there's nothing for your parent to learn or configure.

We support multiple languages because families don't all speak the same language at home. Your parent converses in whatever feels most natural to them, and you receive updates in yours.

Above all, Ami is designed to respect your parent's dignity and autonomy. It's a companion, not a monitor. Your parent chooses when to talk, what to share, and how much to engage. Ami is there to enrich their day and keep the family connection alive, not to replace the irreplaceable warmth of human relationships. It's a bridge for the days and hours in between your visits and calls.
